CHAN Ying Tung
Chan Ying Tung is a Hong Kong native who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University. Her artwork is greatly influenced by her surroundings and reflects her personal growth and psychological changes. She works with a variety of mediums such as ceramics, bronze, stone, sound art, and analogue photography.
For her, creating art is a process that helps her develop her mind. She wants her art pieces to be attractive, and at the same time, evoke reflection, resonance, and questions from her audience. She is still learning to express herself through her art pieces.
The main medium she uses is ceramics. Every time she creates a new piece, she questions herself about why she should use ceramics. She wants to challenge herself and overcome any difficulties she might face while working with ceramics. According to her, ceramics is not a simple medium and she needs to keep exploring it to learn more about it. She wants to master its techniques, which is also her biggest challenge.
陳映彤是土生土長的香港人。她獲得香港浸會大學視覺藝術文學學士學位。她的作品深受周圍環境的影響，反映了她的個人成長和心理變化。她使用多種媒材進行創作，如陶瓷、青銅、石頭、聲音藝術和底片攝影。
對她來說，創作藝術是一個幫助她發展想法的過程。她希望自己的藝術作品具有吸引力，同時也能引起觀眾的反思、共鳴和提問。她仍在學習透過她的藝術作品表達自己。
她主要使用的媒介是陶瓷。每次創作新作品時，她都會問自己為什麼要使用陶瓷。她想挑戰自己，克服陶瓷工作中可能遇到的任何困難。她表示，陶瓷並不是一種簡單的媒介，她需要不斷探索才能了解更多。她想要掌握陶瓷的技術，這也是她最大的挑戰。

The passing of my grandpa gave me a new perspective on death. I see life as a game where we face various difficulties, challenges, and stages such as birth, old age, illness, and death. In this game of life, death is not the end, and we can choose different characters each time we start anew.
Although my grandpa’s physical body may no longer exist, his spirit lives on. I turned his traits into different game characters, and he once again had a new body and life.

This is a utensil for a family gathering to eat poon choi in Chinese New Year. "Poon choi" symbolises good luck, family reunion, and plenty of food and clothing. The animal face pattern has continued New Year's customs. It can ward off evil, block danger, and attract wealth.
