Ho Hue Lam
Chloe Ho is a Hong Kong-based artist passionate about storytelling through various mediums. As a student in The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, and with a foundation in Commercial Design through her Higher Diploma, Chloe’s academic journey has cultivated a rich understanding of both the technical and conceptual aspects of art.
Chloe’s art encourages a personal connection and interaction, urging viewers to find their own stories within the narratives she weaves. Her ultimate aim is to create pieces that resonate with viewers emotionally and inspire meaningful conversations and lasting connections. Inspired by the everyday encounters and individual experiences that shape our lives, Chloe’s art invites viewers to connect with her work on a deeper level. Through her diverse artistic expressions, she aims to elicit emotional responses and present diverse perspectives that resonate with the shared experience.

Family Microcosm is an art piece that explores family relations using both individual and collective representations. Four seats represent various family members, each paired with a plant that reflects their personality in a personal microecosystem. The plants, seats, and associated sculptures mirror the members’ personalities, highlighting the importance of personal development and family life. The piece invites viewers to investigate familial relationships and the harmony that exists within variety.
「家庭微生態」是一件通過個體和集體的表現形式探索家庭關係的藝術作品。四張不同的座椅代表家庭中的不同成員。每株反映他們個性和家庭角色的植物，都構成了每人的微生態系統。植物、座椅以及相關的雕塑相互配合，凸顯家庭成員的個性，突出了個人成長和家庭生活的重要性。這件作品邀請觀眾深入探究家庭關係的複雜性，以及多樣性中存在的和諧。

When creating this jewellery piece, I aimed to advance my exploration by transitioning from paper models to working with metal. While acknowledging the inherent differences between the two materials, I recognised the value of pushing the boundaries and learning about the unique possibilities and limitations presented by metal.

Using locks and chains as a simple metaphor for emotional barriers. The painting explores the visual expression of the struggle to overcome unpleasant emotions and past traumas. Expressing the sensation of being constrained and held back as well as the desire for release and freedom.

The work comprises four randomly cut and placed “8” forms, resembling the symbol of infinity (∞). With no predetermined plan for their form or arrangement, the artwork embodies a multitude of potential compositions. Through this work, I aim to convey the concept of limitless possibilities in life, urging viewers to embrace their self-belief and explore uncharted territories without imposing constraints upon themselves. The artwork serves as a reminder that the boundaries we perceive are often self-imposed, and by challenging them, we can unlock boundless opportunities for personal growth and discovery.
