Kayla Ang is an artist born and based in Hong Kong. Specializing in oil painting, she focuses on painting portraits, captivated by the intricate beauty of human expression. She believes that the eyes are the windows to the soul. She has been exploring the possibilities of self-portraits. For her, self-portraits are not only deep explorations of her inner world; they also serve as carriers of emotion and thoughts in her work.

In her recent self-portraits, Kayla explores stillness as an emotion, using a harmonious palette of soft yet vibrant colors and gentle brushstrokes to create an intimate atmosphere. This serene approach invites viewers to immerse themselves in the slightest emotion captured within each gaze, highlighting how stillness can be a powerful form of expression.

Sunny Side Up
