藝術家簡介

Cheng On Ying
鄭桉盈

Anita On Ying CHENG is an artist whose work transcends traditional boundaries. Her portfolio showcases a diverse range of categories including painting, drawing, glass, and other crafts. Her artistic process is deeply influenced by minimalism. She has focused on three main themes: Food, Nature, and relationships, with little exploration of different concepts. However, she is eager to explore new ideas, forms, and approaches by experimenting with different techniques and materials.
Apart from material, color plays a significant role in her work. Color acts as a visual language to express emotions and create visual impact. She prefers using lighter shades instead of heavy, dull colors to foster a brisk, lively interaction with her audiences. Especially for glass, it can create a nice outline of shadow by using light effects.
Every piece of her work is a journey of her artistic evolution, to reflect and create new possibilities.

By employing glass on highly visible furniture, a fragile material, the work explores the transformation of pets' role and social phenomenon. The dog portrait suggests companionship and the associated symbolism, emphasizing roles, social interaction, and mental support. When they pass, everything will leave in your memory.
