ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
藝術家簡介
Haedie Chow is an artist who works with photography and sculpture to interrogate the intersections of form, philosophy, and human emotion. Rejecting sentimental narratives, he constructs visual inquiries through light, shadow, and materiality—distilling love, passion, and societal critique into deliberate abstractions. His work compels viewers to confront the unseen frameworks of existence, transforming observation into a silent dialogue. Neither declarative nor didactic, Chow's art provokes reflection on perception itself: What do we overlook? What lingers beneath the surface? Through this restrained yet incisive approach, they challenge the boundaries between thought and form, inviting a deeper reckoning with the structures that shape us.

Time queries the threshold as a collapsing force. These anonymous surfaces, without any sense of location, missing the context, and blurred together in proximity, are maps of entropic decay. Fractures act as prophecies, textures twist themselves into signs that can only be read during a certain historical period. Ratios distort the infinitesimal to plus infinity; short focal length smudges the rings of fate. Looking at such scenes is looking at the futility of all human endeavor. Every structure invariably yields to quiet corrosion. At this point, time is not a line but a threshold, irreversible and blind.

“Ad Astra” invites participants to engage with the concept of care through the metaphor of stars. This interactive installation addresses those who feel their potential is dimmed, encouraging them to discover their inner sparks. By poking holes in large paper screens, viewers transform into starmakers, allowing light to filter through and form collaborative constellations on the wall behind them, symbolizing the importance of nurturing one another and recognizing our shared brilliance. Ultimately, “Ad Astra” fosters a space for reflection and connection, where each participant’s contribution illuminates the beauty of their unique journey toward self-discovery and empowerment.
