藝術家簡介

Ginny Fong is from Hong Kong. She is interested in exploring little things in life through painting. In her previous practices, she frequently explores common scenes in life. Thus, she aims to offer the audience different perspectives and prompt self-reflections by highlighting how experiences within these familiar settings vary for each individual.

We eat meals every day, and most of us lead ordinary lives. Yet this daily routine is a time when many people unwind. The tableware of different families and the personalities of different people quietly reveal themselves around the dinner table: some chew slowly and savor their food, others eat while watching TV, and still others chat and laugh as they eat. Family traditions and laid-back attitudes are all hidden among the bowls and chopsticks. These small, everyday details often hold their own little stories.

Acrylic on canvas

70 x 90 cm

This piece explores the intricate relationship between flowers and emotions. For centuries, flowers have been used as art forms to symbolize human feelings, with each species carrying a unique meaning. Among them, roses are most commonly associated with love. However, I see the rose not merely as a symbol but as a creation of nature — it embodies something broader and more liberating. The complexity of its beauty reflects the multifaceted nature of human feelings. Each person holding a flower carries a distinct background and story, personal feelings toward the bloom, and the flower represents the complexity of humanity.
