Room for 5 years is an artwork that documents the room I have lived in for 7 years. I will move out of this house soon, and I want to hold onto these moments that have become so familiar to me. 

Since I was living with 9 people, I have thought about how interesting it is to consider how many times our door has opened in one day. 

In a span of 4 days, I put a piece of A2 paper painted with charcoal on the front door of my house each morning, before anyone in the family had gone out, then I collected the paper back at midnight, creating a full documentation of my family's footsteps throughout the day. 

My work is a description of  Hypnagogic hallucinations  — the hallucinations I experience at night, just one step away from falling asleep. I try to capture the essence and emotions of experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations in this artwork.
