I am Cherry Lee, a video and media artist using AI technology to explore family and community relationships. My work examines the clash between traditional values and modern technology, offering a digital perspective on how we connect and interact. Through my art, I aim to provoke thought and dialogue about how we connect in an increasingly digital world, and how technology reshapes our perceptions of family and community.

After Turning Away is a 360-degree installation that revisits an unspoken family bond.
As my relative recovered in silence, I grew distant with age. I often sat with my back to him—longing to leave, yet fearing one day I'd turn and hear no breath.
Set in a 2.8m dark room, the projection moves along walls, forming a field of memory in motion.
Surrounded by these fragments, viewers share in the quiet tension of a home both cherished and difficult to remain in.
《背對之後》是一件360度影像裝置作品，透過轉動的投影，重現一段無法說出口的家庭關係。
家人病後逐漸沉默，我則在成長中拉開距離。我背對着他，也害怕有天轉身再也聽不見他的呼吸。
裝置於2.8米見方的暗房中，影像繞牆而行，構成一個流動的記憶場。
觀者將被環繞的片段所包圍，與我一同經歷那種想逃離卻無法割捨的家之情感。

In this poignant digital video piece, the artist wrote the script herself and enlisted her real family members as actors. The film, presented in a mockumentary style, tells the story of a child who, desperately lacking love, turns robots into surrogate parents after losing his own. This work delves into the potential future of AI family members in our technologically advanced era, examining the ethical dilemmas and emotional struggles that arise from such possibilities.

“Ai Aunt” is an extension of the previous work, “Domestic Humanoid Companion Robot.” Unlike its predecessor, this video is less of a narrative piece and more of an experimental exploration. The artist investigates whether, in an age where AI technology is so advanced, one can create an AI family member through self-learning. She utilizes text generation AIs like Chat GPT and Claude AI to learn family members’ personalities and speech patterns, trains their voice models using text-to-speech AI, and employs digital human technology to simulate interactions with an AI family member. This project aims to personally experience and reflect on the creation and coexistence with an AI family member, exploring the boundaries between reality and illusion, familiarity and strangeness.
