Like a moth to a flame

Video, digital print on film, luminous pigment, voice-responsive light, sensor doorbell

dimensions variable

Moths don’t know if it’s moonlight or firelight in front of them when they fly into the flame. Moths trapped in a light cannot tell what is in front of them. Caught inside the man-made light trap, their innate ability betrayed them. Struggling between light and darkness, lost int the artificial light, living an infinite cycle of correction until exhaustion and death. I was also lost in the electronic light, confused by my illusions. Do I exist inside the screen in my hand, or the mothman in front of me, or am I part of the algorithm? None of these matters anymore. I can no longer stand a life without light.
