ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Elsie Lee is a transdisciplinary artist who situates her practice within social and community spheres. Her previous work explores the intricacies of intimacy and self-discovery, questioning the fluidity of human emotions through interactive exchange. By integrating performance and video, she examines the intervention of technology in contemporary affect. Her creations translate everyday experiences into collective memories, navigating the delicate tensions between connection, existence, and trust.

"All unspoken words eventually crystallise into salt."
Salt is the residue of tears and the sediment of time. This work constructs a psychological environment suspended in time through mist, salt deposits, and dried contact lenses, attempting to capture the paradox of relationships—highly saturated yet profoundly deprived.
Bricks carry fragments of words that could never be delivered, standing in tension with contact lenses that slowly curl and lose their transparency. Within this artificially sustained climate, unexpressed emotions gradually settle into a silence shaped like dryness.
PREVIOUS WORK

This artwork was created during the final countdown days before the redevelopment of Tai Hang Sai Estate.
Amidst Hong Kong's urbanisation, the project delves into the resurgence of rice cultivation, symbolising a reconnection to local heritage. Insights from interviews with farmers, artists, and villagers reveal a collective desire to preserve land and culture, fostering a renewed sense of community and cultural identity.
