藝術家簡介
Lo Siu Ho is a Hong Kong-based visual artist who works in painting and ceramics. He focuses on the pure purpose of creation and attempts to recall the experience of life as a human being from birth to the moment, inheriting the artist’s life energy through the material. Lo believes that the process of Painting and Ceramics is the least interventionist way to directly present the traces of pure thought, and suggests that the creation of artwork is an alternative mode of reproduction and that creating artwork is a means by which the artist achieves immortality. Lo’s work therefore directly expresses his desire for self-reproduction and reveals his ambivalence about being a collective or an individual.
羅少昊是一位香港視覺藝術家,從事繪畫和陶藝創作。羅氏專注於創作的純粹目的,並試圖回顧作為人類從出生到此時此刻的生命經驗,透過物料繼承藝術家本人的生命能量。羅氏相信繪畫和陶瓷創作過程中能夠最不受干預地直接呈現出純粹思想的痕跡,並且表明創作作品是一種另類的繁殖模式,創造藝術品是藝術家達到永生的一種手段,因此羅氏的作品能直接表露他對自我繁衍的慾望及揭示出對於成為集體或個體的矛盾性。

I free the glaze from attachment to external objects, allowing them to become forms, paintings, and objects independently.
I resemble them and they resemble me.
My intention is for them to transcend that intention, but I am still the ultimate decider, and the firing helps to keep us apart.
I birth them, exhibit them, they inherit a part of me and represent a part of me, as if they could not live without me.
The moment they are out of my control is the moment they enter your mind.
I hope they get into your mind.
不依附於外物,我令釉獨自成形,成畫,成物。
我似它們,它們亦似我。
我的意圖是希望它們超越意圖,不過我還是最終的決策者,而燃燒幫助我們保持距離。
我生了它們,展示它們,它們繼承了我的一部份,亦代表了我的一部份,好像它們離不開我。
而他們脫離我控制的那一刻,便是它們進入了你腦袋的那一刻。
希望他們能進入你的腦袋。

I try to mimic the creation of life by pinching the glaze to create something similar to life, and after the fire changes in the unexpected state seems to highlight the vitality of life, this is a painting made by the cooperation between the high temperature and me.
我試圖模仿創造生命地手捏釉料,創造出類生物的東西,在經過火燒後變化不在預期的狀態更突顯出生命力,這是高溫和我合作而成的繪畫。
