ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Mancar Luo is a Hong Kong artist who primarily works in oil painting. Through her art, she records her personal attitude and observations toward life. Her works always begin from a deeply emotional perspective, magnifying the seemingly ordinary yet emotionally rich details of everyday existence. She believes that those easily overlooked fleeting moments and subtle feelings are, in fact, the most authentic and precious parts of life.
Mancar's works express a slowing, a pause, and a rediscovery of the delicate warmth and humanity that are so easily drowned out by city life.

In the finite span of time we are given, it is often the subtle, almost imperceptible actions of daily life, rather than deliberate arrangements, that touch the heart most deeply. Between people, emotional connections are frequently forged beyond words, quietly woven through ordinary objects. These occasional gestures and habitual movements silently carry countless layers of delicate and profound love. Unassuming yet sincere, they accumulate through repetition into the most authentic form of tenderness.
This work seeks to capture these overlooked poetic moments by documenting everyday objects and minute actions, inviting viewers to rediscover the silent yet deeply moving expressions of love that permeate our lives.

This painting comes from my experience and feelings when I first learned to swim during my last vacation. It's just a small story, but the kindness of my friends, the warmth of the water, and the gentle waves are deeply etched in my mind.
In daily life, people often become overly focused on the tasks at hand, overlooking the adverse effects of such intense focus. However, a small moment of joy can dissolve these negative impacts. I want everyone to pay more attention to the small joys around us and to find solace in a society that constantly demands progress.
I got ideas from everyday life. Some actions women take, such as those depicted in movies or on TV, are often perceived as sexy or beautiful. But why can't men do them too?
This painting conveys a sense of unease through simple, everyday moments. So, I painted masculine-looking hands doing actions women often do in makeup or films. This creates a contrast and makes people think.
