Unlimited digital storage has changed the way memory works. While limited space once forced careful choices, modern technology encourages saving everything without thought.
Scanning the QR code opens a website to “burn” a memory using senses and emotions instead of digital files. The blank CD acts as a physical symbol of this invisible process. It represents a memory stored without data, proving that true remembrance is a human act rather than a technological one.

A calendar showing security guards’ continuous workdays, reflecting their lack of real holidays. Security guards actually don't have real holidays. They often have to find someone to cover their shifts in order to take time off. If no one can replace them, they must work until someone does. This 2025 calendar for Hong Kong includes public holidays and the Chinese calendar. The cover is red, representing Chinese culture, which is very common in Hong Kong calendars. On the first page, I depict my building’s security guards’ cramped workspace under the stairs, highlighting their challenges in the calendar.
Zine is a showcase of job-related items with images and descriptions, like phones for complaints and stairs for constant patrols. It showcases items related to security guards’ jobs, which are common in daily life. While we have our own understanding of these objects, security guards might face different challenges with them. Readers will see images of these items, accompanied by descriptions. For example, a picture of a telephone might mention that residents often call to complain.
Guards sign this form on every floor, reporting issues twice daily; print it as a daily checklist. Security guards have to sign this form on every floor and report any issues (e.g., light bulbs or meter boxes) twice a day. It's a repetitive and often boring task, but it's important for us. I’ve printed it as a checklist for each floor, resembling a daily to-do list.
