As an artist, I am dedicated to exploring the intricate landscape of the human inner world through emotional expression and relationships. My work primarily takes shape through glass and illustration, while I also enjoy experimenting with the fusion of different art forms to delve into individual experiences.

I strive to create pieces that resonate emotionally with audiences, prompting reflection on life and society. Engaging with various subjects from a social and community perspective, I conduct interviews that offer deeper insights into human emotions and social dynamics, enriching my creative process.

Whispers in Glass consists of eight glass pieces created using glassblowing techniques, featuring three main tones: green/yellow, black/pale, and light hues. The work is themed around “Interpretation,” aiming to explore the subjective ways in which we understand and perceive our own and others’ identities. Through interviews with diverse individuals and the unique qualities of glass, I hope to invite the audience to engage in imaginative interpretations, experiencing the complexities and joys of individual interpretation.

Growth

Glass, 2024, 75 x 65 x 70 cm

“Growth” – the word that best represents change, because it includes not only time, but also factors such as human nature, environment, etc. However, generally people often only have time to recognize change. The reason why I choose the octopus hand to represent “exploration” is because we continue to explore the world and try to expand our “holes” so that we can better witness the so-called reality and success, crawling forward and struggling like an octopus. Therefore I made many octopus hands in different colors, lengths and movements. As for the theme, I chose its representative color (red) based on the meaning of my name, “Sun, the harbinger of light.” Since I am still developing myself, the subject’s hand looks unfinished or still extending. And its movement is also made according to the shape of DNA. The reason why I choose to sandblast the window glass is because we are like exploring in a fog (future), everything are unknown.

Reincarnation

Glass, 2024, 50 x 50 cm

In terms of theme, I was inspired by this poem and decided to use macroscopic changes in time as the theme. In terms of form, I was inspired by the “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” and hope to create a work that can be continued. Therefore, I chose to illustrate on multiple pieces of window glass, and the content is the change of a scene in different periods, also i have leave a several parts that can continue on the left and right sides of the glass. The reason why I didn’t use a picture frame or fuse with the big glass is because I think the change is “endless”, just like the idea of this work is “reincarnation”, and the order of the current four works can also be disrupted. So I’m not attaching anything to displace.

Passion

Acrylic on Glass, 2024 25 x 45 cm

In this project, I was thinking the awareness and dangerous of passion romantic relationship, therefore the stable but breakable material “Glass” might be the most suitable medium. Also, i try to do different effects like sandblasting, crack, slamping to create a series.
