To Yan King, Jenny
Jenny, who is 178cm tall, uses her height to create large paintings. She is fascinated by post-apocalyptic and horror comics, films, and TV series, and finds thrills in watching viral nervous scenarios in a safe place. To spend more time communicating with her inner self, she loves to walk and daydream outdoors. Compounded by these experiences, loneliness, fear, and creepiness always impact her art creation. Her paintings were influenced by structural form as she studied interior design for two years.
Her recent work is about her complex feelings towards the sky. Afflicted by Casadastraphobia, she cannot gaze at the cloudless sky. Yet, she loves to relish the sky. This feeling confused her. She explores her inner self through oil paintings with low-hue colours painted forcefully with thin oil. Liminal space, a novel, and reflection inspired her works. Through this work, she tries to create a space with confusion.

The artwork was composed of three seemingly disparate scenes, divided into multiple square canvases. One of them was removed. The background was painted acrylic, resembling a cloudy sky. The reflections and buildings were meticulously painted on the canvases using thin brushes and thin oil. This technique preserves the brushstrokes and creates a translucent effect, blurring the line between reality and the ethereal. The brushstrokes sometimes imitate the shape of clouds.

This artwork is the first piece in The Sky Series. Through The Sky Series, the fear of being elevated into the sky when turning her head up to look at the clear sky was expressed. This painting depicted the reflection of the balcony. Thin oil was applied to the canvas forcefully to create texture. It brought out the idea of loneliness, calmness, and confusion.
這件作品是 The Sky Series 的第一幅油畫。通過這個系列，作者表達出害怕抬頭向上時，望着萬里無雲的藍天， 因為她會有被天空吸上去的感覺。 這幅油畫繪出了露台在地下上的倒影。物料方面，她用很薄的油彩在畫布上用力地刷出質感，藉此表達她內心的孤獨、平靜和混亂。

This painting is another piece from The Sky Series. The artist painted a reflection in a shopping mall in large canvases, using the painting method she developed from the previous works in The Sky Series. The viewing angle and the structure gave a sense of falling towards somewhere. The distortions brought out the confusion.
