Zeng  Xiaoru is an artist who explores ceramics. She came across ceramics as part of her program at the Hong Kong Baptist University. The uniqueness of ceramics makes her feel that every piece of clay is alive and Zeng decided to explore different areas in ceramics. Zeng believes that human emotions are limited by human language, and ceramics can express them in a more vivid way. Ceramics is therefore an expression of her body and soul. Zeng specializes in exploring one’s innermost emotions with the most primitive clay materials and expressing them in the form of ceramics. Initially preferring to express her personal emotions as the goal of her work, in 2023 she began to explore the emotions of the people around her. She tries to explore the emotions of strangers in a variety of ways and uses her work to show the results and she hopes to express the emotional needs of more people through art.
